MANDATORY PREREQUISITE APPLIES

This class will teach you how to center larger amounts of clay and will refine skills learned in beginner wheel classes. It will also introduce students to more advanced skills such as adding handles and lids.

Instructor: Tori Carmichael

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Wheel - Beginner Level 1 at the YK Guild. Ability to center clay and make basic cylinders on the wheel. Age 16 or older. Adult full membership.

Cost: $260 (clay not included; clay must be purchased separately through Guild website)

Wheel - Spoon Rests (November 15, 2026)

MANDATORY PREREQUISITE APPLIES

This spoon rest workshop introduces the techniques needed for throwing flat and making minor alterations to thrown pieces. Short demonstrations combined with hands-on throwing practice will introduce techniques for centering flat pieces, creating angled rims, and altering rims. Tips will be provided for trimming and glazing.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Wheel - Beginner Level 1. Current scheduled open studio or full studio privileges. Age 16 or older. Adult full membership.
