OLD TOWN RAMBLE AND RIDE

| Old Town Ramble and Ride is a weekend festival of art, music, and community in Yellowknife's Old Town and the Guild was there this year! As part of our 80th anniversary celebrations, we got our hands dirty highlighting our potters with demonstrations of wheel and handbuilding techniques. Visitors stopped by to chat with the artists, and see how things are created, the tools used, and the end results. There was even an opportunity for visitors to glaze their own tile to become a part of the final exhibit of our anniversary year at the Yellowknife Artist Run Community Centre (YKARCC) in December 2026. Plus we hosted an "Ode to Yellowknife" pottery exhibit in the ARCC trailer! |
An Ode to Yellowknife.... In honor of the Yellowknife Guild of Arts and Crafts 80th Anniversary, the Guild members who like to "play in the mud" created new pieces or dug into personal collections of pottery for this exhibit. This is their tribute to the city and the environment we live in through the creative process of transforming clay into pieces of art.
